About

Through an Interdisciplinary approach, I use abstract and figurative imagery to illuminate the bittersweet duality of caregiving and motherhood during a time of socio-political turmoil and climate disaster. My work is inspired by the poignant emotions shared between family members, women's health issues, the news, and objects of matrilineage and domesticity. The patterns on Grandma’s scarves and decorative rugs merge with entwined figures in an absurd representation of home in a changing landscape. I create work with saturated chroma and charming figures that appear inviting, but also function as a confrontation, attempting to save the world through a matriarchal revolution. My artwork compresses the desperation and joy inherent to caregiving into surreal and playful scenes. My personal experience with Queer marginalization, female health conditions and motherhood manifest as exhibitions that at first appear as a glittering rave, but upon closer inspection, reveal the subtleties of fear and loss inherent to loving another person in a tumultuous world.
