Summary Allen is an established visual artist with three decades of experience in media including drawing, painting, printmaking and metals. Her works explore her ongoing interest in pattern, both natural and manmade. Recent themes in her work include those derived from nature; entropy and debris, eroded asphalt patterns, beach detritus, flood water debris and patterns discovered while running and hiking. In addition, Allen is an accomplished arts administration professional with more than twenty-five years in public art project management, art museum management and curatorial work. Brief Biography Born 1960, Seattle, WA Anne Allen grew up in Fort Worth, TX, and has lived and worked in Los Angeles, CA, Portland, OR and New York's Hudson Valley before returning to Texas in 1999. Allen received her M.F.A. in metals from the State University of New York at New Paltz and her B.F.A. in painting and printmaking from the University of Texas at Austin. She did a post-graduate residency as Metals Artist in Residence at the Oregon School of Arts and Craft in 1996. Recent solo exhibitions include Animal, Vegetable, Mineral at Cris Worley Fine Arts, Dallas, June 22-August 17, 2024; T.I.M.E.
