Second Saturday Reception at Antenna Gallery

Join us on Saturday May 10th from 6-10pm at Antenna (3718 St. Claude Ave) for our next Second Saturday event - a 2nd reception for our current exhibitions! Mix and mingle with Antenna Collective members, Antenna staff, local artists and other members of the art loving community while taking in our current group shows "From Where We Stand" & "Upcycling: The Creative Use of Waste Materials" (on view through June 1st, 2025) A self serve bar is on site (donations suggested). UPSTAIRS: "From Where We Stand" - curated by Niama Safia Sandy, As a disparate group of artists selected by renowned New York-based curator, the works explore a variety of issues in different visual mediums: the Indigenous people of Bvlbancha; spirituality and the subconscious, memory and nostalgia, love, place, and the anti-immigrant hysteria. The 2025 Louisiana Group Show asks each visitor to consider - to witness - FROM WHERE WE STAND. -The 2025 Louisiana Group Show "From Where We Stand" features work from Jose Torres-Tama, Beatriz Soco Ocampo, Bvlbancha Public Access, Gabrielle Garcia Steib & Marion Forbes. DOWNSTAIRS: "Upcycling: The Creative Use of Waste Materials" This Antenna collective member exhibition, curated by collective member Kerry Punzo, highlights works that utilize discarded items and trash. A range of thematic and aesthetic choices made by the artists explore and celebrate unique paths opened by the inherent potentials of repurposing. -"Upcycling: The Creative Use of Waste Materials" features work from Flora Cabili, Laura Gipson, Francisco Magallan, Caesar Meadows, Stylo Moniker, Kerry Punzo, Gurleen Rai & bisu yaw. Antenna is open weekly from 12-5pm Thursdays through Sundays.
