How to Launch a Creative Business Focus Group

This Session is all about Exploring What's Needed to Support Creative Businesses in New Orleans. This 3-hour collaborative brainstorming session is for you if: You are involved in a creative industry: fashion, design, visual & performing arts, music, production, film, television, publishing, advertising, gaming, new media (AR/VR), events, festivals, creative placemaking, etc. You are interested in developing or growing a financially viable creative business. You are facing obstacles achieving your professional and creative goals. You would enjoy brainstorming supportive solutions with fellow creatives in a safe space. You are excited about co-designing new avenues of support for the creative community, such as programming, mentorship, physical spaces, networks, or funding. What is our Goal? Our goal is to better understand the unique needs of artists and creative entrepreneurs in New Orleans and to collectively brainstorm solutions that would support the launch and growth of thriving creative businesses. How it Will Work: We will focus on discussing what would be most helpful to achieve our goals and overcome our challenges – whether it be programming, mentorship, physical space, access to networks, funding, or something else entirely. We encourage you to come with an open mind, a willingness to participate and ideate together, and enthusiasm for contributing to community-driven solutions. We don't know what the outcome of this session will be, but I am excited to show up with you and let our collective genius unfold.
