Yale Schwarzman Center is seeking a Sound Engineer to join our team. Under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Sound Engineer (SE) exercises a high degree of autonomy and discretion to plan, coordinate, and oversee the work in sound and audio at Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC). The SE works closely with the TD to provide continuity in the use of such equipment and to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. The Sound Engineer reviews technical drawings; ensures safe and efficient operation of the YSC equipment and spaces; and engages in the construction, installation, and strike of sound and audio elements for all YSC Production and related events. This person carries out duties while exercising a large degree of autonomy and discretion, maintaining high standards for safety and customer service. They will serve as Sound Engineer and Board Operator as needed for YSC production and related events. In conjunction with DOP and TD, the Sound Engineer will oversee the installation, tuning, and removal of sound and audio equipment at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals and strike of productions and related events.
