Under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Production Electrician (PE) exercises a high degree of autonomy and discretion to plan, coordinate, and oversee electrics at Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC). The Production Electrician works closely with the Technical Director to provide continuity in the use of such equipment and to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. The Production Electrician reports to the Yale Schwarzman Center Technical Director. They review technical drawings; ensure safe and efficient operation of the YSC equipment and spaces; and engage in the construction, installation, and strike of lighting elements for all YSC Production and related events. The Production Electrician carries out duties while exercising a large degree of autonomy and discretion, maintaining high standards for safety and customer service. They will serve as Production Electrician and Programmer as needed for YSC production and related events, and review production related technical drawings, providing guidance on materials, methods, and technical design choices. In concert with YSC Director of Production (DOP) and Technical Director (TD), the Production Electrician will plan the sequence of projects to maintain safety and efficiency. In conjunction with the Director of Production and Technical Director, the Production Electrician will oversee the installation, focus, and removal of lighting equipment at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals, and strike of productions and related events.
